Manuel Cruzcastillo presents “M.G.”

Manuel Curzcastillo has shown today for the first time his desings in the 080 Barcelona Fashion’s catwalk. His collection goes after the title “M.G.” in honor to his father, Miguel González, and it explains the public the designer’s vital story. “It is one of the most intimate and more personal implicated collections of all the ones I have ever designed”. The very personal line tells the public a loss, a goodbye and a reunion, all of it using cold colors.

The key of today’s catwalk has been Cruzcastillo’s goodbye to his father in an attempt to understand his death and “close the circle”. Although it might seem a very sad line, it is actually a happy goodbye which shows Cruzcastillo’s relationship with his father.

The designer accomplishes this objective recreating the kind of clothes his father used to wear, to which he adds a more actual touch. He experiments with fabrics and patterns while using plush, cottons and cloth as the principal materials.

Manuel Cruzcastillo studied fashion in the Escuela Llotja. His first Jobs were as an El Delgado Buil, José Castro, María Escoté, Giménez and Zuazo and Jordi Labanda patterns’ designer. In 2007 he created his own brand, “Cruzcastillo”, making its key the thing he knows how to do best: playing with textures.

Since then, Manuel has presented, counting “M.G.”, four collections in catwalks, two of them in Cibeles (Madrid). Now he is doing it for the first time in Barcelona, after three years away from the public eye.
