An important message

This is an important message to all our readers:

We know you can see there are more posts in the blog in Spanish. We try to keep both blogs updated at the same time, but we are from Spain so we write our posts in Spanish and then translate them to English and not the other way round, and sometimes it is difficult to translate as fast as we prepare posts. We want you to know we try to do it the best we can and we care as much for you as we do for all our Spanish readers.

Thank you so much for your understanding!

Ivori, a romantic and cozy space dedicated to Catalan fashion

Video: Elena Darriba

In the number 7 of Mirallers street(Barcelona) we can find the shop Ivori, owned by the designer from Barcelona Carola Alexandre. The shop is hidden between small streets from the Catalan city, but it is very easy to find thanks to a sign placed in a very busy street near it.

The shop’s name is followed by a subtitle which already indicates what we can find in it. This subtitle is “made in Barcelona”, and this is because in Ivori you can only shop clothes made by Catalan designers.

Craft and vanguardism in The Avant

Photography: Marina Corral Roselló

In Enric Granados Street, 106 (Barcelona), we can find The Avant, Silvia Garcia Presas’ brand.

The singular space has a Mediterranean inspired decoration which shows the timeless and artisanal style of the brand in a perfect way. You can find very special clothes, made in a very caring way. They don’t follow fashion trends, The Avant’s key is creating clothes that, although being of the present time, are also timeless. Their clothes are addressed to an exigent and cosmopolitan woman who bets for quality, the use of natural materials and manual work.

Interview to Patricia Benitez, La Chica de Papel's founder

Photography: Natalia Garcia

We meet with Patricia Benitez in “Galeria Cosmo”, a place that harmoniously combines a café with an exquisite art gallery. Its decoration is extremely beautiful and colorful, and it offers an ideal environment to talk about the brand La Chica de Papel, for its similarity with the young and sweet artistic concept…

How would you define what fashion means for you?
I define fashion as a way of personal expression: it is what you wear, what you are and the image you give to the world. I think about fashion as a way of absolute free expression, and that’s why I love it when people adapt their closet to their personalities and they dress as they want, not caring if it is trendy or not. The important thing is to dress it the right way, I mean, you have to feel comfortable in it. For me, this is fashion.
