Georgina Vendrell shows “DUALISM”, her idea for the next season

Designer from Barcelona Georgina Vendrell has presented this morning her collection “DUALISM” in 080 Barcelona Fashion Week’s catwalk.

It is a masculine clothes collection which mixtures different materials and textures whose principal colors are black and different ranges from blue and grey.

Georgina Vendrell studied in the Institut Català de la Moda (“Catalan Fashion Institute”) and debuted in 2007’s ModaFAD, where she won a price for her collection (which in that moment was already just for men). This allowed her to create her own brand, which she called Georgina Vendrell Menswear.

Manuel Cruzcastillo presents “M.G.”

Manuel Curzcastillo has shown today for the first time his desings in the 080 Barcelona Fashion’s catwalk. His collection goes after the title “M.G.” in honor to his father, Miguel González, and it explains the public the designer’s vital story. “It is one of the most intimate and more personal implicated collections of all the ones I have ever designed”. The very personal line tells the public a loss, a goodbye and a reunion, all of it using cold colors.

The key of today’s catwalk has been Cruzcastillo’s goodbye to his father in an attempt to understand his death and “close the circle”. Although it might seem a very sad line, it is actually a happy goodbye which shows Cruzcastillo’s relationship with his father.

Aldomartins in the 080 Barcelona Fashion's catwalk

Núria Bisbal, the daughter of Aldomartin’s founder, has presented today in the 080 Barcelona Fashion’s catwalk her proposals for the next autumn-winter season. Models as Alba Carrillo and Malena Costa have been in this catwalk.

The brand is exclusively aimed to an urban and feminine public, pretending to dress a woman who is in her 20s, 30s or 40s “worried for her image and with purchasing power. This woman has a young spirit, is elegant but daring at the same time daring, and doesn’t want to go unnoticed. The brand gives her a difference with its clothes”.

Catalan Fashion Week starts

Photography: Marina Corral Roselló

The 080 Barcelona Fashion starts today its thirteenth edition, which will remain in constant activity until this Friday 31st of January. This time, the chosen place for the event has been El Born Centre Cultural, for its emblematic relationship with fashion and trade.
The 080 catwalk is the best way to internationalize the catalan fashion. It is for this reason that the number of fashion shows has increased this year, coming to a total of 34. In the five days that this event last, the new clothing ideas for the winter season 2014/2015 will be shown.

Welcome!

Behind the title “Made in Barcelona” (“Hecho en Barcelona” in Spanish) we want to create a space where the fashion from the catalan city is the main protagonist. With this target, we will cover all those events related with the textile sector, a sector which has been working really well this last years in Barcelona. The events will go from the most important ones, like the 080 Barcelona Fashion Week, to others like the opening of little shops of designers from Barcelona who are, for now, still unknown.
We are very happy to start this initiative and we hope you are as interested as we are in this subject!
Thank you for reading!
